Health Equity and Access Unit, Metro South Health

The Health Equity and Access Unit (HEAU), Metro South Hospital and Health Service, is committed to providing equitable, accessible and culturally appropriate services to people in the region. Priority groups include Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, Culturally and Linguistically Diverse communities, people with disability, people who are from refugee or asylum seeker backgrounds and people who are experiencing homelessness.

HWQld and HEAU are exploring ways in which we can work together to address health inequity. HEAU have an established framework and several resources that HWQld can draw on to ensure our work caters to the needs of these communities.

Whilst HEAU have a focus in the Brisbane South area, they have a desire to connect with others around the state to share and learn experiences.

HWQld is ideally placed to coordinate this partnership and bring others together, to ensure initiatives and approaches are equitable to all members of the community.
